Human Cloning, a science unlike any other

In 1997 a sheep by the name of "Dolly" was cloned. This caused stirred reaction all over the world. The U.S. banned federal funding for cloning. Many world organizations have passed resolutions asserting that human cloning is both morally and legally wrong. However, cloning research still exists behind the scenes world wide. Do you think it's wrong or are we limiting scientific research?
Motions:
1. Maintain a ban on cloning.
2. Loosen the ban on cloning for scientific research.

What is your stance on the issue? Back up your opinion with viable arguments.
